Sarah was in grade 6 when her father lost his job. Almost overnight, the family's budget shrank to the essentials. Her mother had to make impossible choices — groceries or soccer registration, school supplies or winter boots.
Sarah's teacher noticed she had stopped bringing lunch and was withdrawing from friends. A quiet conversation led to a referral to Teachers for Kids Foundation.
Within a week, TFKF covered Sarah's soccer registration fee, provided new school supplies, and connected the family with additional community resources. Sarah didn't just stay on her team — she was named MVP at the end-of-season tournament.
"I didn't want anyone to know we were struggling," Sarah said later. "TFKF made it feel normal. They didn't make me feel different — they just made sure I could keep doing what I loved."
