Since 1986, Teachers for Kids Foundation has been ensuring that no child in Peterborough misses out because of financial barriers.
Our Mission

Teachers for Kids Foundation was founded in 1986 by a group of passionate educators in Peterborough, Ontario who saw firsthand the impact that financial hardship had on their students. Children were missing school trips, couldn't afford team registration fees, and lacked basic supplies.
What started as a small fund has grown into a comprehensive support network providing education assistance, sports opportunities, health support, and emergency aid to families across the Peterborough region.

Our Journey
Founded by Educators
A group of dedicated teachers in Peterborough recognized the need and started TFKF.
Sports Program Launched
Expanded to cover sports registration fees and equipment for students.
Emergency Fund Created
Added emergency family assistance for clothing, prescriptions, and crisis support.
Tutoring Partnership
Partnered with Trent University for after-school tutoring programs.
1,000+ Students Helped
Reached the milestone of supporting over 1,000 students across the region.
